Kool Kids Foundation- Golf Outing

Our Third Annual Kool Kids Foundation Golf Tournament a Sold-Out Success

A celebration of good times to help benefit music education for children with top celebrities took place on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, hosted by Robert Kool Bell, co-founder of the Grammy Award-winning legendary band, Kool and; the Gang, along with sons Hakim Bell and Muhammed Bell.

The third annual Kool Kids Foundation Golf Tournament, held at the Cedar Hill Golf & Country Club in Livingston, NJ, was a sold-out event where entertainers such as Rev Run, Ja Rule, Chris Tucker, and Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge fame rubbed shoulders with celebrity athletes Lawrence Taylor and Ken Griffey Sr. Other famous folks included John Starks, Charles Oakley, Ken Griffey, Sr., Hisham Tawfiq (from NBC-TV’S “The Blacklist”), OJ Anderson, Anthony Avent, Jeff Nelson, Stephane Matteau, Howard Cross, Rodney Hampton, Stephen Baker, Lewis Tillman, George Rogers, Brian Kelly, and Mark Bavaro.

During the event, grade school-age Amalia Arty was presented with an electric keyboard by Kool Kids Foundation president Hakim Bell. Amalia is the piano student of instructor Akene Dunkley, who was Hakim Bell’s music teacher many years ago.

Towards the evening, attendees were treated to performances by Ja Rule, Chris Tucker, Carl Brister, DJ Sienna as well as the Center Stage Band.

Our Motivation.

At The Kool Kids Foundation, we believe music and the arts have magical values through composition. In essence, they provide a remedy to an ongoing disparity in education and can encourage better choices for children in their downtime. Having more alternatives to sports will stave off the boredom driving students to the streets, to gangs, crime, drugs and other negative influences. We want to help ensure their successes by inspiring strong character, self-esteem and integrity as they grow to become creative role models. The Kool Kids Foundation will promote the value of music and art by using incentives like new instruments, art supplies and guidance which will instill the sense of joyfulness only creativity can bring.

We are actively. . .

  • Advocating for the arts so can students achieve more, think big, and create magic.

  • Helping to cultivate a new group of supporters within the entertainment and sports industries in order to build an educational program for tomorrow’s leaders.

  • Promoting cultural and social events while encouraging healthy competition and positive reinforcements.

  • Inspiring students to strive and maintain good grades and understand “It’s Kool 2 Stay in School”.

  • Participating in community service activities and challenging kids to dare to care.

  • Petitioning celebrities to promote our message “It’s Kool 2 Stay in School”, become new role models and help in opening literacy programs.

  • Serving the community as an educational resource in the discipline of music.

  • Forming partnerships with musical organizations in the community.
